Quick 5-Minute Skincare Routine for Summer

Summertime is the perfect opportunity to simplify your skincare routine! Here's a quick routine that will leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. This quick five-minute skincare routine will help you achieve a healthy glowy complexion without overloading your skin with product, and uses simple product steps that are easy to throw in your carry-on for all of your summer travels! 

  1. Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser

Cleansing your face is an important part of any skincare routine. But with so many different cleansers on the market, it can be hard to know which one is right for you. If you have dry or sensitive skin, it's important to choose a hydrating cleanser that won't strip away your natural oils. A gentle cleansing milk or lotion is also a great option. 

You can also try a cleansing oil, which can help to break down makeup and impurities without drying out your skin - just remember to rinse well afterward to remove any residue. For normal or combination skin, a foaming cleanser is a good choice. It will help to remove dirt and oil without stripping away your skin's natural moisture.

A good skincare routine should always include a prep step, like a toner. Toners help to prep the skin by removing any traces of dirt, makeup, or oil that may be lingering on the surface. This gives your other skin care products a chance to work more effectively. In addition, toners can help to restore the skin's natural pH balance and provide a boost of hydration.

SPF, or sun protection factor, is a measure of how well a sunscreen will protect your skin from UV rays. The higher the SPF, the greater the protection. SPF 30 sunscreen protects your skin from 97% of UV rays, while SPF50 sunscreen protects your skin from 98% of UV rays. 

However, it's important to remember that no sunscreen can provide 100% protection. That's why it's also important to wear clothing that covers your skin and to avoid being in the sun during peak hours (10 am -4 pm). By taking these precautions, you can help ensure that your skin stays healthy and looks its best this summer.

  1. Finish up with a lip balm to keep your lips hydrated

After a long day in the sun, it's important to properly hydrate your lips. A good lip balm will help to lock in moisture and protect your lips from the elements. Look for a balm that contains an SPF of at least 15 to protect against harmful UV rays if you’re going to be in the sun.
