Every time the season begins to change from winter to spring, there’s tons of excitement for the warm weather ahead because it makes us one step closer to summer. The warmer weather often inspires us to get out more, and as your social calendar begins to fill up, you might be looking to update your current beauty look.
We put together a list of the most exciting beauty and skincare trends that we’re looking forward to this season so you can refresh your routine - keep reading to see our favorites!
4 Spring Beauty Trends We’re So Excited For
1. Periwinkle, everything
You've probably heard by now that the color of the year for 2022 is called Very Peri, “a new Pantone color whose courageous presence encourages personal inventiveness and creativity.” The color was chosen to symbolize the transition that is occurring globally and “helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives.”
Luckily, it’s a gorgeous shade of periwinkle that will look amazing as a nail polish, eyeliner, or eye shadow. And since it’s the color of the year, you'll have no problem finding products with the beautiful shade in drugstores, beauty stores or online retailers.
2. Full, bushy brows
If you thought bushy brows would be left in 2021, you thought wrong. So put down those tweezers and pick up a tinted brow gel because full, bushy brows are here to stay. Following the popularity of brow lamination, many makeup brands are launching brow gels that are meant to mimic the effect of a laminated brow.
If your brows aren’t as full as you’d like them to be, don’t worry. Fake it until you make it with brow pencil and a brow gel and in the meantime, you can use a DIY brow serum to condition and strengthen your brow hairs to grow long and strong. We recommend using castor oil and a brow brush or spoolie to apply the oil to your brow hairs before bed.
3. Glossy and Glowy Everything
Gone are the days of matte makeup looks of winter. Spring beauty trends are all about glossy, glowy and high shine makeup. Keep an eye out for lots of gorgeous lip glosses, lip oils and balms that will keep your lips looking plump and juicy. Swap matte eyeshadows for shimmery cream or liquid formulas. In addition, opt for dewy or radiant finish foundations and tinted moisturizers so you can let your skin’s natural glow shine through. Be sure to exfoliate your skin properly beforehand so you don’t have any dry or flaky skin patches for your makeup to cling to.
4. All Natural
On the opposite end of the spectrum from colorful, periwinkle makeup looks, one big beauty trend for spring is natural, barely there makeup. If you want to get into the minimalist look, a full, bushy brow paired with a light contour, a bit of concealer and mascara will do the trick. Add a pinch of blush and you’ll be good to go. The best part of a minimalist makeup look is that it's very easy to do and hard to mess up, plus it takes no time at all! Perfect for mornings where you’re running late but still need to look put together.
P.S. Got tired eyes that even a concealer can’t fix? Fake a full night’s sleep with undereye masks - they’ll really level up your “All Natural” makeup look!
3 Spring Skincare Trends We Suspect Will Be Huge
1. Body Care
In 2021, people paid more attention to the skin on their bodies than ever before. This spring, as the weather gets warmer and your arms and legs can finally see the sun again, we think body skincare will continue to be a huge skincare trend. It’s time to finally give the skin on your body the same attention and care you give the skin on your face!
Get ahead by starting to prep your skin now so you’ll be ready to wear shorts, dresses, skirts and short sleeve tops as soon as the first warm day comes. We recommend using an exfoliating body scrub to get rid of any dry or flaky skin patches. It will also help prevent ingrown hairs in areas where you choose to shave.
And don’t forget to keep the skin on your body moisturized with body butter or lotion. Pro tip: apply on wet skin so it locks in hydration as soon as you step out of the shower.
2. Hyaluronic Acid
While most people end up switching to a heavier cream or moisturizer in the winter, once spring is here, that intense level of hydration might no longer be necessary. We think lighter, hyaluronic acid based serums and moisturizers will be popular, especially at the tail end of spring leading into summer.
There’s a reason hyaluronic acid gets all the hype - not only does it help the skin retain moisture (like a big glass of water for your skin), but it can also help with other common skin concerns, like aging or texture.

3. Skinimalism
After being inside all winter and having more time for long skincare routines, we suspect that once the warm weather hits, no one will want to spend hours on their skincare routines! That’s why we think ‘Skinmalism’ (skin minimalism) will be in favor - quick, simple and effective skincare routines that don’t take too much time.
