How to Celebrate National Relaxation Day in 2022

In case you didn't know, August 15th is National Relaxation Day. A day to kick back, put your feet up, and just let go. Of course, relaxing every day can be challenging unless you're retired or have the luxury of taking long vacations. Here are some ideas for celebrating National Relaxation Day in 2022, even if your schedule is packed. Whether you decide to relax at home with a book or head to a spa for the day, relax and enjoy yourself!

Take a long bath with soothing aromatherapy

To kick off Relaxation Day and put you in a relaxed mood and help make your skin super soft, why not take a bath? Toss in some bath bombs or bath salts, put on relaxing music, grab a glass of wine or your favorite book and sit back for a little bit. And definitely don’t forget to pop on masks for the skin on both your eyes and face - the ultimate way to relax!

After you shower or take a bath, apply creamy body butter to wet skin. It’s important you apply it to wet skin so that you lock and seal in the moisture. And don’t forget about the skin on your face too - gently massage a dreamy moisturizer into your skin to feel even more relaxed.

Read your favorite book for an hour or two

There's nothing quite like curling up with a good book. Whether you're reading for pleasure or trying to learn something new, immersing yourself in a book can be a truly enjoyable experience. And even though it may seem like there's never enough time in the day, carving out an hour or two to read is well worth the effort. Not only will you get to escape into another world for a little while, but reading has also been shown to have numerous health benefits. It can help reduce stress, improve brain function, and even boost your immune system, which will help you relax.

Take a walk in nature and take in the fresh air

Is there anything better than a walk in nature to refresh your mind and body? As you take in the fresh air, you can also appreciate the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you're admiring the flowers in bloom or the autumn leaves, spending time in nature can help you to forget your troubles and simply enjoy the moment. In addition to being good for your mental health, walking is also a great form of exercise. It's low-impact, so it's easy on your joints, and it's a great way to get some fresh air and Vitamin D. So next time you're feeling stressed, take a walk in nature and breathe in the beauty of the world around you.

Meditate for 10-15 minutes to clear your mind

Meditation can be a great way to relax and clear your mind. If you're new to meditation, it can be helpful to start with just 10-15 minutes. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down, and close your eyes. Focus on your breath, and try to let go of any other thoughts that come into your head. You may not be able to totally clear your mind, but just the act of trying can help you relax. If you find your mind wandering, just gently bring it back to your breath. Over time, you may be able to increase the amount of time you meditate for. But even just a few minutes can make a difference.

Take a break from work and relax with a cup of tea or coffee

There's nothing like a hot cup of tea or coffee to help you recharge during the work day. Not only do these beverages have a soothing effect, but they can also help to increase alertness and focus. Whether you're enjoying a quiet moment by yourself or catching up with friends, taking a break for tea or coffee is a great way to relax and rejuvenate. So next time you're feeling stressed at work, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and take a well-deserved break. You'll be glad you did!

Spend time with friends and family

Spending time with friends and family is a great way to relax and forget about your troubles for a while. And it's not just good for your mental health-- studies have shown that social interaction can also lead to physical benefits like lower blood pressure and a stronger immune system. So this Relaxation Day, consider spending time with your loved ones doing a relaxing activity like a beach or pool day, spa trip, or just spending time in each other's company!

Listen to calming music

When you're having one of those days, one of the best things you can do is take a few minutes to relax and listen to some calming music. Whether it's classical music, nature sounds, or simply your favorite song, music can help to ease your stress and relax your mind and body. If you're feeling overwhelmed, try taking a few deep breaths and listening to some calming music. You might be surprised at how much better you feel afterward. Try making a playlist of relaxing and calming music that you can listen to on National Relaxation Day or whenever you feel stressed!
