HOW TO PREP YOUR SKIN FOR DATE NIGHT
Exfoliate the day before
To avoid facial irritation, use a gentle exfoliator the night before your date night to buff away dead skin cells and dry patches so you can wake up to fresh, glowing skin. Don’t scrub too harshly, and be sure to follow up with a moisturizer.
Apply a hydrating facial mask the morning of
The morning of your date night, after you wash your face, kick things off with a hydrating face mask to help boost radiance and help plump up the skin before makeup. While you’re doing your face mask, it's the perfect time to pick out your outfit or paint your nails so you don't waste any of your precious time.
Do a facial massage to sculpt and tone the face
After masking, take anywhere from a few minutes to a whole half hour to massage your face. Massaging the skin on your face can help with depuffing, lymphatic drainage, increase blood flow and circulation and give you a natural “facelift.” It’s a great thing to do while you’re catching up on your favorite shows and can be done with or without the use of tools. Speaking of self-care, giving yourself a facial massage is a great way to show yourself love!

Apply eye masks to de-puff
Our secret to faking a full night’s sleep for any event is caffeinated under-eye masks. They’re so easy to pop on while you’re doing your hair or eye makeup (to catch any eyeshadow fallout) that sometimes we even forget we have them on! We love storing them in the fridge for a cooling effect. Not only will they help you look well-rested, but they also help to prep your under-eye area for concealer.
Use your moisturizer for a DIY glowy makeup primer
One of our favorite hacks for maintaining a luminous, lit from within glow (even with a full face of makeup) is simple: mix a few drops of your favorite liquid highlighter into a tiny dollop of moisturizer for a glowy makeup primer that will keep your skin moisturized and prep the skin perfectly for makeup application. It’s an easy and quick trick, but it goes a long way and will elevate your makeup look to the next level. It’s like a built-in candlelit glow!
HOW TO PREP THE SKIN ON YOUR BODY FOR DATE NIGHT
Exfoliation is key
First and foremost, you should definitely exfoliate the skin on your body before beginning the rest of your body care routine. Whether that’s using a dry brush, loofah, or using a body scrub in the shower, exfoliating is key for skin that looks supple and glowing. Plus, if you plan on shaving, exfoliating will help get rid of any dry skin patches or flakiness so you can get a close, smooth shave.
Don’t underestimate a great bath!
To put you in a relaxed mood and help make your skin super soft, why not take a bath? Toss in some bath bombs or bath salts, put on relaxing music, grab a glass of wine or your favorite book and sit back for a little bit. Soaking in the tub will make your skin feel so soft afterward that your date might have trouble keeping their hands off - don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Lock in hydration
After you shower or take a bath, apply creamy body butter to wet skin. It’s important you apply it to wet skin so that you lock and seal in the moisture so your skin doesn’t feel dry, especially if you live in cold or dry climates. To give your body an extra glow, you can mix in a few drops of your favorite liquid highlighter or bronzer to your body butter to elevate your look. Just make sure the lotion or body butter is dry before you put your clothes on so you don't transfer makeup to your outfit.
Perfume hack
If your perfume has trouble lasting, you should try this super easy hack: apply your perfume to wet skin. Apparently, it helps the scent last longer and intensifies the smell - who knew? We love to toss a rollerball or sample size of the perfume in our going-out bag so we can reapply throughout the night as needed.
